Charlotte Lyon was born in London in 1965, coming from a long line of artists. Both her mother the portrait painter Toby Lyon and her father the sculpture Peter Lyon helped and influenced her early work, along with her Grandfather Robert Lyon who was Principal of The Edinburgh School of Art.

Charlotte is a strongly representational artist , her colours are intense and her bold compositions suggest entrapment, whilst at the same time conveying a strong sense of the subjects dignity.

Charlotte now lives in Amsterdam where she continues to work in the same genre finding new topics perfecting the style and expanding on format and technique.
